Today, the Justice in America news team is on location in Seattle Washington, speaking with Matt Wunderman, the attorney at Connelly Law Office who represented his client Nestor Munki, a recent political refugee from Cameroon, to tell his harrowing and almost unbelievable true story of escaping from his native country, Southern Cameroon, because he became a hunted man, because he dared to videotape a Southern Cameroon rally for independence on Facebook.
In 2022, ten elementary school students who were sexually assaulted by a former technology aide Fernando Figueroa will receive a $13.7-million settlement from the Riverside Unified School District to settle numerous lawsuits. The children ranged in age from 7 to 11 at the time of their abuse. Figueroa was sent to prison in December 2019 for 20 years to life.
In April and June 2022, 103 victims of Nassar sued the FBI for a total of $1.13 billion under the Federal Tort Claims Act for the FBI’s false statements and inaction. In May 2022, the Department of Justice refused to arrest any FBI agent that was involved in the failure to investigate for 14 months.
