John fell with the crane onto a building on 51st Street. Upon impact, the top portion of the crane flipped over… demolishing a townhouse on 50th street. As a result, John was buried for hours until the rescue team found him.

His co-workers on the crane were killed. John was the only one on the crane that survived. He suffered major extensive injuries… and was hospitalized and underwent multiple surgeries. He was confined to bed for months following the occurrence except for needed medical care and treatment
