Tough Times, Tough People- Brian Moore’s Story Full

Today The Insider Exclusive presents TOUGH TIMES, TOUGH PEOPLE – Brian Moore’s Story, and how his lawyer, Thad Myers, a partner at Whetstone Myers Perkins & Fulda LLC got justice for Brian, and how Brian’s amazing gifts on the field have transformed him off the field into a phenomenal young man.

On June 26, 2007, Brian Moore, a gifted college football star and Olympic weight lifter contender, severed his spinal cord in a car accident that almost killed him.

Now his football playing days are in the past. He faces a future in a wheelchair. That prospect would test even the strongest resolve.

Brian’s life changed, but he has not.

Rather than focusing on what he lost, Brian has looked to his strong faith to help guide him.

As a leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Brian knows that he possesses a strength greater than his former record-breaking physical strength – his natural ability to inspire! Athletic teams and groups seek him out to speak and inspire, and he now runs a youth-oriented ministry.

As Brian continually says, “God has a plan. I feel this whole accident was a tool for God to have me to reach out to others in this life. He has a divine plan for me.”

Brian also has a secret, a secret that if you:

“Keep on doing right, God is building character in you. Remember, the greater the struggle, the greater the reward.” Brian believes that “You just don’t accept whatever comes your way in life. You were born to win. You were born for greatness. You were created to be a champion in life. When you go through difficult times, you make sure you pass the test. Don’t be stubborn and don’t be hardheaded.”

Brian recognizes that God is refining him and knocking off some of his rough edges. Brian believes he must stand strong and fight the good fight of faith, because God has called each of us to be champions. We are all destined to win.

Many sages have said that:

“When you face adversity, you need to remind yourself that whatever is trying to defeat you could very well be what God will use to promote you. Somebody needs what you have to give. It may not be your money. It may be your time. It may be your listening ear. It may be your arms to encourage. It may be your smile to uplift. Who knows?”

“Every one of us has an untapped capacity of courage, but the courage it takes to endure challenging times doesn’t happen instantaneously. It’s the courage of perseverance, and nothing in this world can take the place of perseverance.”

Brian inspires us to believe that we should:

Always remember, the hills ahead

Are never as steep as they seem,

And with faith in your heart start upward

And climb ’till you reach your dream,

Nothing in life that is worthy

Is ever too hard to achieve

If you have the courage to try it

And you have the faith to believe

Faith is a force that is greater

Than knowledge or power or skill

And many defeats turn to triumph

If you trust in God’s wisdom and will

Faith is a mover of mountains,

There’s nothing that God cannot do,

So start out today with faith in your heart

And climb until your dream comes true

Brian lives by the words of a fellow great American, Martin Luther King Jr., who also spoke of his dream, when he said:

“The ultimate measure of any man is not how they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but how they stand in moments of challenge and controversy.”

Brian is an inspiration to everyone. No matter what catastrophes may befall us in life, with willpower, determination, the help of one’s friends, and with God; we can all make it back. That is truly Brian Moore’s inspirational spirit.

And that is the same spirit that inspired his lawyer Thad Myers, a partner at Whetstone Myers Perkins & Fulda LLC, to seek justice for Brian, and has earned him the highest respect from citizens and lawyers alike as one of the best trial lawyers in Columbia, in South Carolina, and in America.
