The VA’s two Emergency Room Physicians agreed to separate confidential settlements in this medical malpractice lawsuit against them. The Doctors and a VA Radiologist had failed….not once…. but twice, to properly diagnosis, Brandon’s mother, Mary Ann Smith’s, serious “brain aneurysm ” condition and treat it immediately… which resulted in her death..
As you see…. Brandon Smith is physically and mentally challenged….and does not have the ability to care for himself. Mary Ann Smith was not only his mom… but also his full time and sole care giver…. The $6 million verdict represents a damage award sufficient to provide meaningful damages to replace Mary Ann’s care to some extent that she offered on behalf of her son. Because Brandon Smith is one of those “unintended victims” of medical malpractice that genuinely deserves justice…..
