Interview with Raymond Boucher as he explains the possibility to fight back against “Corporate Giants” and “Corporate America”.
Ray Boucher is a trial attorney specializing in complex consumer litigation, construction defect litigation, product liability, toxic tort litigation, employment discrimination, and bad faith.
Mr. Boucher was named Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2007 by the Consumer Attorneys of California. In 2008, he was named the Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles’ Trial Lawyer of the Year, both for his work on behalf of the victims of childhood sexual abuse.
Mr. Boucher was recognized as one of the Daily Journal’s 2002 “Top 100 Most Influential Attorneys in California.” He was the recipient of the 2002 Ted Horn Memorial Award, given by the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) for the selfless gift of one’s talent. Pepperdine University School of Law honored him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2002. The Trial Lawyers for Public Justice (TLPJ) awarded Mr. Boucher the Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in 1994, and he was a finalist for the Award from TLPJ in 2000.
Mr. Boucher has served as President of both the Consumer Attorneys of California and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.
Mr. Boucher is also a recipient of several Presidential Awards, Awards of Merit and Commendation from numerous bar organizations. He is a frequent speaker for CAOC, CAALA, ATLA and National College of Advocacy seminars throughout the country./nMr. Boucher is a member of the Board of Directors for the TLPJ; the Pepperdine School of Law Board of Visitors; the Los Angeles County Bar Association; the Diversity in Law Foundation; the California State Delegation to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America; and a Fellow of the National College of Advocacy. He is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA); the Roscoe Pound Foundation; the Civil Justice Foundation; the American Bar Association; the Los Angeles Bar Association; and the Orange County Bar Association.
A favorite pastime of Mr. Boucher’s is doing fund raising for various local, state and national organizations. He raised over $9 million dollars during the last election cycle for California, as well as monies for races at the federal level. Ray Boucher also makes time to do volunteer work, spends a considerable amount of time doing pro bono work, and frequently advises California Senate, Assembly and Constitutional Officers about legal and political issues.
Throughout his career in litigation, Mr. Boucher has tried more than 50 cases and has received more than $60 million in verdicts. He has briefed and argued more than 20 appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Second, Third and Fourth Appellate Districts in the State of California. Mr. Boucher received his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Business Administration and Political Science from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado in 1980; his Master of Science degree in Management from Colorado State University in 1981; and his Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine UUniversity School of Law in 1984.
