Kristi Elliott – A Story Of Tragedy & Triumph

In 1986, Kristi Elliott was an all-star swimmer at Ohio State University (OSU). After leaving an OSU football game during her sophomore year, Kristi accidentally fell into OSU’s Mirror Lake, striking a limestone planter and instantly rendering her a quadriplegic. Through the diligent, meticulous research of her attorney, John Alton, they discovered that OSU had been warned about the dangerous conditions posed by the planters as far back as the 1950s. After a long legal battle and two trials, OSU settled Kristi’s lawsuit. Kristi went on to graduate college, become a champion of self-reliance, even challenging herself to feats like skydiving. This is Kristi’s amazing story of tragedy, determination and courage.

Joining Kristi are John Alton and her father-in-law Jim Montrella and her mother Bev Montrella.
